There is a sprout! Yes, it is very small and hard to see but there it is, right in the center of the terrarium! Samantha noticed it while I was at work on Sunday and showed me excitedly when I got home. I had honestly almost stopped thinking about the plant all together because it had been so long since I planted! This is the second round of planting (I started over after finding the mold). I even went and bought new seed starter! It has been over a month now and amazingly there is growth! So now what? The package says it will grow really fast (though I'm trying to keep my expectations low so as not to drown in disappointment) and if that happens I will probably need to re-pot soon. But now is not the time for the game plan. Now is the time for celebration because I am finally a real banana farmer!
p.s. Don't mind the decapitated Mary in the background; I didn't realize her conspicuousness when taking the photo.
I can't believe we didn't think to move Mary . . . We should really fix her.
